*Science SPOOKTACULAR EVENT in Aurora, Saturday October 16th. Volunteers
needed!*

**
The Naperville and Aurora area branches of AAUW are sponsoring a
Halloween-themed event for 4th and 5th grade girls and their families. It
will be held at IMSA (Illinois Math and Science Academy) in Aurora from 1 -
5 p.m on Saturday, October 16th. The effort is intended to help keep these
girls in school and encourage them to take more math/science classes with a
STEM related focus.

The organizers are looking for female role models to serve as exhibitors to
talk about their careers and promote various career opportunities for girls
in the the STEM arena. They will be providing table space and chairs, and
will try to accommodate any other requests we may have in terms of media or
setup, so exhibitors can bring handouts, freebies, or hands-on activity
appropriate to the targeted age group.

Interested in representing AWIS at this event and inspiring young girls?

To volunteer, please send an email to: outreach at awis-chicago.org by
Friday, September 24th.

*Career Panel at Malcom X College*

The Cultural Diversity Committee of Malcolm X College is sponsoring a Career
Development Panel on Wednesday, October 6th 12:30 - 2:30 PM. The goal is to
expose students to multiple career options and discuss the key skills needed
to being successful in their prospective careers.

If you are interested in speaking with college-age students about career
opportunities, please email outreach at awis-chicago.org by Monday, September
27. If you cannot make this date but would be interested in similar
opportunities in the future, let us know!
