Beat the winter blues with AWIS Chicago!  Come out for cocktails, appetizers
and networking in Evanston. Meet up with old colleagues and make connections
with new ones in both academia and industry. This event is open to
significant others, friends, family and other supporters of women in
science.

*Time*: 4:30-6:30pm
 *Location*:1557 Sherman Avenue, Evanston, IL 60201 - metered street parking
is available nearby and the restaurant is approximately 3 blocks southeast
of the Davis Purple Line El stop

  *SWE Change Management Seminar - March 1**

 The Society for Women Engineers is hosting a seminar on Change Management -
AWIS members are invited.

The seminar will be run by Cheryl Lewis, Group HR Director for ITW's Test
and Measurement Group.  Cheryl will  teach topics discussed in the book
Transitions: Making Sense of Life's Changes, by William Bridges.  Cheryl is
responsible for HR activities for ITW companies such as Instron (who make
tensile testing  equipment) and Buehler (who make metallurgical equipment).

Abbott will be  sponsoring a career information session on Thursday, March
17. There will be time for networking, presentations by Abbott employees and
a resume drop for current and future positions.  Refreshments will be
provided.

*CPS Annual Science Fair - Volunteers Needed****

 This science fair features the best projects from all over Chicago and it
is one of the final stages before students advance to the international
INTEL Science and Engineering Fair to be held in Los Angeles, California in
May, 2010.

AWIS-Chicago has been a proud supporter of this science fair for many years.
Be a part of this momentous occasion and help AWIS-Chicago choose which
young girls show the most promise and deserve an AWIS Special Award.

*Time*: 8:00am - noon, lunch is provided
 *Location*: Museum of Science and Industry (parking and museum admission
provided)
