1) *Family Science Days *- February 15-16 (Sat-Sun) from 11 am to 5 pm

*Volunteers are still needed* for the AWIS Chicago booth on Sunday,
February 16, for the 2-5 pm shift. The AWIS Chicago booth at will have a
variety of fun and interactive activities to showcase different aspects of
genetics suitable for all age levels. To volunteer, please email Joy Ramos
at joyramos at gmail.com by* Friday**, January 31* and indicate 2-5 pm as your
preferred shift.

2) *Career Development Workshops *- February 14-16 (Friday-Sunday)

These workshops are geared towards attendees of different age and career
levels. Sessions focus on providing insight and tools needed to move
forward in a scientific career.

AWIS Chicago will host its very own Career Development Workshop
entitled "*Work-Life
Satisfaction: Developing Your Own Personal Action Plan*" on Saturday, Feb.
15 from 1 to 2 pm. Hope to see you there!


3) *Plenary Lectures* - February 13-17 (Thurs-Sun)

Plenary lecturers are world-renowned speakers and have a passion for
science. Their lectures are highlights of the AAAS Annual Meeting and cover
a range of topics. Speakers this year include Susan Lindquist (Professor of
Biology, MIT) and Alan Alda (Visiting Professor of Journalism, Stony Brook
University), among others.
