$25 student registration (undergraduates/graduates)*
Breakfast, lunch, coffee breaks and evening reception are complimentary with
your registration as is the networking reception at the close of the day.
Parking is an additional *$6* – garages located at Northwestern’s Chicago
Campus – 222 E. Huron.

The Association for Women in Science (AWIS) Chicago Chapter in partnership
with the Chicago Council on Science and Technology (C2ST) brings you its
first ever all-day *Women in Science Symposium 2010: Building an Identity*.
The symposium, to be held on April 17th, 2010 will allow women scientists,
at the academic, industry and government levels, to better recognize the
number and diversity of their counterparts; create a sense of solidarity,
and; broaden the spectrum of opportunities for women in Chicagoland.

member or a woman, but should promote the advancement of women in science,
technology, mathematics and engineering.

AWIS Summer Internship Program
Developing Leading Women in Science, Technology, Engineering, and
Mathematics (STEM)

*Eligible Applicants*: Our program is intended for outstanding female
undergraduate students who are members of groups currently under-represented
in the STEM disciplines including  individuals of African American,
Latino/Hispanic, Native American, and Pacific Islander descent.

*Duration of Program*: The program is designed and designated as a 10-week
work experience between May and August

*Students Receive*: A $3,500 stipend for the ten-week program

*Program Application*: Applications should include:

1. Resume
2. Cover letter

3. One letter of recommendation
4. One writing sample

Survey for Women in Science: Integration of Work and Personal
Responsibilities*

Dr. Alice Stuhlmacher of DePaul University is requesting women in science to
fill out a survey on the integration of work and personal responsibilities. She
and her students at Georgetown University are trying to understand what
organizations can do to support effective work-life integration for
employees and improve business outcomes. They are asking about people's work
organization, organizational supervision, careers, and perceptions of the
workplace.  *Preliminary data may be shared at the Women in Science
Symposium on April 17th.*

Participation is completely anonymous and should take approximately 15-20
minutes.
Eligibility requirements to participate:
•       age 18 or older,
•       currently employed,
•       fluent in English.
