Heather Sevener, the Assoc. Director of Graduate Services at University of
Chicago, Career Advising and Planning Services (CAPS), will conduct a
hands-on workshop to create an effective resume/CV for people in the STEM
fields.
 *Date*: Wednesday, Jan. 19th, 2011
*Time*: 6:30-8pm
 *Location*:Biological Sciences Learning Center, University of Chicago, BSLC
009, 924 East 57th Street, Chicago, IL 60637

To maximize the hands-on nature of the workshop, this event will be limited
to the first 20 registrants.

Registration is $5 for AWIS-Chicago members and $10 for non-members. Light
refreshments will be provided.


*AWIS STEMiNAR - January 11 *

The national AWIS organization is hosting a web-based program entitled "When
making a lateral move
is a good idea!" on Tuesday January 11 at 1:00 PM EST.

The speaker will be Dr. Donna J. Dean, Ph.D, an independent consultant who
focuses on career enhancement and mentoring strategies.  The talk will be
aimed primarily at people in early to mid-career, but anyone is welcome to
sign up.

The cost is $99, but FREE to AWIS members. Registration information can be
found under the Programs & Events tab on www.awis.org (click on "Calendar of
Events").

Pete Miller's in Evanston.  More information coming soon.

We will also be sponsoring a career information session by Abbott at the
downtown Chicago campus of Northwestern University on Thursday, March 17.
